Steven M. Gonzalez


Steven Gonzalez earned his law degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1983. He became licensed in Texas that same year, and began practicing as an associate with the law firm of Ryan & Marshall, located in Houston, Texas. He practiced full time in Houston for 10 years, defending virtually every sort of injury and property damage case, including medical malpractice, premises liability, construction site accidents, oil field accidents, product liability, car and trucking accidents, construction defect cases, and DTPA cases. Mr. Gonzalez opened the Rio Grande Valley office in 1993 and has practiced full time in the Valley since 1998. Mr. Gonzalez is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Mr. Gonzalez has personally tried to jury verdict the most serious types of personal injury cases, including quadriplegia, paraplegia, persistent vegetative state, brain damaged babies, and more than 25 wrongful death cases. Mr. Gonzalez has been elected by his peers to the American Board of Trial Advocates with a rank of Advocate. His peers have also repeatedly elected him as Texas Monthly Magazine’s Super Lawyer and in 2002, he was named in the Texas Lawyer as “Craftiest Defense Lawyer in the Rio Grande Valley” by anonymous interviews with lawyers from the Valley.

Gerald E. Castillo

 

Gerald E. Castillo was raised in the Rio Grande Valley. He earned his law degree from the University of Texas in 1999. He became licensed in Texas that same year, and began practicing in the McAllen, Texas office of Marshall, Gonzalez and Myers, LLP. That firm has evolved into the current firm of Gonzalez Palacios, LLP. Mr. Castillo has practiced for eight years defending personal injury cases, including medical malpractice, premise liability, product liability, construction litigation, and car and trucking accidents. In addition to this, Mr. Castillo has an active practice in labor and employment matters and represents municipalities and governmental units. He represents clients throughout the Rio Grande Valley on human resource issues and employment litigation. Mr. Castillo is a member of the Hidalgo County Bar Association and is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and in the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas.

Edward J. Castillo

 

Edward Castillo was raised in the Rio Grande Valley. He obtained his undergraduate degree from The University of Dallas in 1996. He then obtained his law degree from Texas Tech University in 2003 and became licensed in Texas that same year. He has been practicing with Gonzalez Palacios, LLP for the past 6 years defending a variety of personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability, car and trucking accidents, and products liability case. He is actively involved in the Hidalgo County Bar Association and Hidalgo County Young Lawyer’s Association. He is also licensed to practice in federal court for the Southern District of Texas.

Ezequiel Moya

 

Ezequiel “Zeke” Moya was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. Mr. Moya earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas-Pan American. He earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law-Houston, in 2014 and became licensed in Texas that same year. Mr. Moya was formerly a U.S. Army Captain and served as an Infantry Company Commander in Afghanistan. He has been practicing with Gonzalez Castillo, LLP since November of 2014 defending a variety of personal injury, medical malpractice, premise liability, and products liability cases. He is actively involved in the Hidalgo County Bar Association and Hidalgo County Young Lawyer’s Association.

Ruy Mireles

 

Ruy Mireles was born in Ottawa, Ontario Canada and raised in McAllen, Texas. Mr. Mireles earned his undergraduate degree from St. Edward’s University. He earned his law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2013. He also earned his Masters of Law from The University of Texas School of Law in 2014 and became licensed in Texas that same year. He has been practicing with Gonzalez Castillo, LLP since May of 2015 defending a variety of personal injury, medical malpractice, premise liability, and products liability cases. He is actively involved in the Hidalgo County Bar Association and Hidalgo County Young Lawyer’s Association.

Juan Gonzalez was born Brownsville, Texas and raised in Houston, Texas. Mr. Gonzalez earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. He earned his law degree from The University of Texas-Austin of Law in 2013 and became licensed in Texas that same year. He has been practicing with Gonzalez Castillo, LLP since August of 2013 defending a variety of personal injury, medical malpractice, premise liability, and products liability cases.
